Quote of the Day: Francis Bacon

You know in my case all painting–and the older I get, the more it becomes so–is accident. So I foresee it in my mind, I foresee it, and yet I hardly ever carry it out as I foresee it. It transforms itself by the actual paint … One is attempting, of course, to keep the vitality of the accident and yet preserve a continuity.

It’s been a whole month since I posted an interview with an artist. I became a part time art instructor and tutor just about a month ago, and it’s kept me quite busy in addition to my other work (and preparing my own art for upcoming exhibitions). Link of the Day: Arion Press

“Limited Edition Books with Original Art” says it all…

Check out their site: Arion Press

Arion Press makes gorgeous books with images by some of the most illustrious names in the contemporary fine art world. Their next book will feature a new translation of Sappho’s poems (Page duBois and John Daley) alongside artwork by the phenomenal Julie Mehretu. The clean architectural lines of Mehretu’s work combined with the ghostly, elusive fragments of Sappho’s poetry should prove an exciting mix.

Now you all know what I want for my 29th birthday come July. Time to save up!
